According to the Carnegie Foundation, “Philanthropy in the United States represents an extraordinary effort unparalleled in any other country in the world, with 66% of the population volunteering their time in some non-profit activity and 70% making donations. There are 61,000 foundations, with $475 billion in assets, in the United States, giving away $30 billion annually.”
Philanthropy is THE national pastime, more so than football, baseball, the movies, or anything else. Yes, this is bigger than NASCAR. And there is no single media property that serves it. Corporations, organizations and individuals have no clear vehicle they can use to come together and create change around their common causes.
There is an opportunity to address the fragmentation of the philanthropy industry and provide information, communities, and a technology platform that will close the loop from idea - to volunteer - to donation - to action - to results.

The central purpose of JUST CAUSE is to use innovative means and technologies to help individuals and organizations take the actions necessary to make the world a better place.
|
The mission of JUST CAUSE is to shine a bright light on individuals, corporations and the change agents who are working for the greater good. To inspire people to get involved, to reveal and help people understand the relationship between charity and community, to educate people about how to MAKE A DIFFERENCE and impassion them to TAKE ACTION; to give them a technology platform to enable that action.
JUST CAUSE is about people. All sorts of people, making a difference. |
JUST CAUSE is an integrated media property that takes an in-depth look at what it means to be part of an engaged community - on both a national and a local level.
From coast to coast, the national and international stories will be the same in every printmagazine. This includes articles covering charitable causes, charitable organizations, volunteer services, fundraisers, and profiles of “doers and givers.”
Our online presence will provide expanded coverage from each of our stories, as well as provide directories and calendars and interactive “blog” sites for individuals, organizations and corporate CSR. This vibrant social network will enable many voices to be heard, and facilitate civic engagment on a local and granular level – while still linking people across the country around common causes. |
